Lalo Schifrin Radio including Piero Piccioni Piero Umilani,
Hugo Montenegro, Bary Gray, and more

I enjoyed Lalo Schifrin (Mission Impossible theme) and other jazz musicians during the 60's. As a promising french hornist in high school I listened to the musicianship of the jazz and Brazilian influence in movie and pop culture of the time. I also admired the french horn section of Henry Mancini in many movie and tv scores. I've known many french hornists that studied with the 1st hornist of the Mancini Orchestra, Vince DaRossa.

I studied with Jimmy Decker (Columbia Symphony) and Ralph Pyle (2nd horn - LA Phil) in later years.

These musicians were throughout the years as the premiere musicians on records, TV, and movie scores in Hollywood, along with live performances.

The music from this radio station is dated but is still reminiscent of the "sound" of the brass players in the 60's and 70's music scores for TV and Movies.

After viewing the movie "TITANIC" it moved me to write this music.

I was surprised to learn that another ship could have rescued many of the Titanic passengers but continued on, even though they saw distress flares in the sky. They thought that the Titanic was just celebrating since it was close to midnight.

This first voyage of the Titanic was doomed. They left without enough life boats, no binoculars for the lookouts, a lack of regard for the iceberg report, etc.

The ship was moving too fast to make the wide turn after the Iceberg was sighted and reported. After the sinking an extensive inquiry in both New York and London occured. Many safety changes for future ocean voyages were mandated.
