OBITUARY FOR BARBARA MOSS, March 14, 1912 November 18, 2004 - 92 years of age
Barbara Moss died on November 18, 2004 of natural causes. She is survived by 2 daughters (Karen Pierce and Jann Wyler), her sister (Sybil O’Day), 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
She was born March 14, 1912 in Los Angeles, California.
Barbara was a local legend in Long Beach Real Estate. She was the first woman president of the Long Beach Board of Realtors. She was awarded the “Outstanding Realtor of the Year” in 19__. She was honored for her achievements in real estate for the past 75 years.
After graduating from Long Beach Poly High in 1932 she went to work as an assistant secretary at the Long Beach Realty Board for $6.00 a week. She went from being a secretary for the board of realtors to becoming a noted local and international realtor. Some of her accomplishments were: owner of “The Barbara Moss College for Real Estate”, owner/broker of “Barbara Moss Realty”, a life member of “The California and National Association of Realtors”, a member of “FIABCI” (an international real estate association). She sold real estate in just about every part of the world. Barbara was a popular speaker at conventions and associations.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a beloved mother/grandmother/great grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday November 27, 2004 at 10am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 6500 E Atherton, Long Beach which is ½ block east of Palo Verde and south of the 405 freeway.
